It's almost noon and I haven't even started getting ready yet. One reason I'm still at home is the weather. It's been raining for the past two days and it's just plain ugly. I love the rain, don't get me wrong. Though, I love it when it's about 80 degrees and then the rain comes and cools it all down. Now?! It cooled down, that is for sure. It's not a cooling though I prefer and I'm sure I speak for a lot of people out there. Plants might love it now but it screws a lot of things for us humans. Planned trips or events got cancelled. Wishing the weather might get better or hoping for some sun is something impossible right now. I've heard it's going to be warmer as the weekend approaches but still, now it's all wet, grey and yucky. Plus, living in my country you mainly take either public transportation or you simply walk. The latter is my thing. I walk; a lot. Even today I will walk. No doubt about that. I just have to figure out how I am going to walk through my city so I won't get all soaking wet (with an umbrella of course).
This then reminds me of last Wednesday while I was walking along the promenade towards the pier and back home. It was a gloomy and foggy morning but I'd rather have that than what we have to deal with today. Though, I have to admit it's all silly...why do I (and a lot of other people) complain about something like this whereas others suffer in this world. We should be happy being able to even have the chance to use the Internet to let our thoughts free (and being able to buy umbrellas or even have shoes to walk in)...shouldn't we?!

April 14

Thoughts I encountered while my internet was down...

...by the time you read this it'll most probably be the end of this month. Well, while visiting friends and family I have some slight trouble using the internet; hence, my absence. Honestly, it bothers. I'm not obsessed with the internet, blogging, myspacing or facebooking but I love to stay in touch with people and see how everyone's doing while I'm away. And, I like to update everyone on my whereabouts. Unfortunately, I am not able to do this... It's April 14 at 8pm and all I want is to check Emails, make sure my flight back to Europe leaves as scheduled and well, I just need it. Once a day is enough but once it has to be. So, I just came up with this little "past blog" of mine. I'm handwriting this and the minute I adjust to life back in Europe I'm going to post this. Silly, I know but I want to do this. I'm trying to keep this short and simple...so here we go: It sure was a perfect day today. Started out beautifully with sun, blue sky, no clouds...you name it. I thought it was the perfect time for shopping. I really did go out shopping! My money's gone now but I satisfied my needs and my wardrobe is now renewed. And well, I also enjoyed the sun on our patio today overlooking the water and just indulged in the moment. Love it in California. Always have and always will. I so can never get enough of this!!!!

Keep Smiling

A perfect day to stroll around, not get blown away and just enjoy the moment. I had my perfect moment today. Sat outside, a book in my hand and the best view over the harbor. It felt good, real good. I could do this pretty much every single day from now on. Unfortunately, I can't. I am sure I can find ways to sort of get this perfect moment while I'm not over here but it will never be as astounding. One thing that bothers me for so many reasons is that my camera doesn't want to cooperate. Olympia refuses to work with me. I think I just have to charge her and then she's back to normal again.
Yes, it might be odd to name a camera but most things in my life have names, and Olympia is one of them. Even rental cars get names. Think of it as my daily inspiration, my passion for life and things...no matter where I am or what I do. Inspiration is always needed in my grey life. May it come from a blog, a fantastic book about nature or a family drama, a fun movie, a TV show, a lovely friend telling me she missed me, or giving names to cars, cameras, or even clothes. A fun and maybe even silly day is always better than a depressing one. Don't you agree?

P.s. One day I'll find out how to enhance my blog with pictures and more fun stuff...just haven't had the time for that.
